The origami crab used to be sealed with a few coats of sealer and non-yellowing satin varnish so as to add durability and give protection to them from moisture. But they don’t seem to be water-resistant, so don’t submerge the earrings in water, or wear them to go swimming or taking showers.
Every earring used to be made with an origami crab folded from a Chiyogami Japanese paper with aqua blue, purple, lavender and white floral print, paired with a faceted iridescent glass bead, dangle from a shepherds-hook ear-wires.
The length of the earring from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the crab is about 1.5″. The width of the crab is about 1″
