The origami crab used to be sealed with a couple of coats of sealer and non-yellowing satin varnish so as to add durability and offer protection to them from moisture. But they don’t seem to be water resistant, so don’t submerge the earrings in water, or wear them to go swimming or taking showers.
Each and every earring used to be made with an origami crab folded from a red, black & gold color Chiyogami Japanese paper, dangle from a gold colored fish hook ear-wire.
The length of the earring from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the crab is 1.5″. The width of the crab is about 1″.
